If you’ve ever tried installing or reinstalling Windows and faced the dreaded Error Code 0x8007025D, you know how frustrating it can be. This error often appears midway through the installation, halting the process and leaving you stuck with a half-installed system.
In my case, the error occurred while installing Windows on the C drive, where, the setup wouldn’t move past 1% and would abruptly terminate with the same error message. Tried restarting to reinitiate the process, but only to be encountrered with an error. After multiple failed attempts, I finally discovered what caused it and how to fix it.
What Caused the Error
The installation media I used had been created a long time ago and had never been used before. Apparently, the files on that USB were either corrupted or incomplete, causing the setup process to fail during installation.
So, I decided to recreate the installation media from scratch, and that’s all it took to fix the problem!
How I Fixed Error 0x8007025D
Here’s exactly what I did to resolve the issue:-
1. Format the USB Drive2. Download a Fresh Windows 10 ISO
I downloaded the latest version of Windows 10 directly from the official Microsoft website to avoid any corrupted or outdated files.
3. Create a Bootable USB Using Power ISO
Using Power ISO, I created a new bootable USB drive from the freshly downloaded ISO file. For some reason, the microsoft media creation tool was getting terminated midway, and I was running short of time to figure out what was cauasing the issue. so had to use Power ISO.
4.Install the OS Again
I booted the system using the new bootable USB and started the installation. This time, the process went through smoothly without any hiccups anf ofcourse, no 0x8007025D error!
If you’re facing the Windows installation error 0x8007025D, the root cause is often a corrupted installation media. Simply recreate your bootable USB using a fresh ISO file from Microsoft and the problem should be resolved.
It worked perfectly for me, and I hope it helps you too.
